Waste Tire Recycling Machinery and Rubber Granule Production Plants | MT Machinery Engineering

Today, environmentally friendly production and sustainability have become one of the most important focuses of industry. In this context, recovering end-of-life tires (ELT) and bringing them back into the economy without harming the environment is of great importance. As MT Makina, we produce innovative, durable, and high-capacity waste tire recycling machines and plant equipment that enable the most efficient processing of vehicle tire waste. Whether you want to produce rubber granules or aim to generate energy with a pyrolysis system; our turnkey tire recycling plants and specific machine solutions offered with the assurance of MT Makina are detailed below.

Waste Tire Recycling Process and MT Machinery and Equipment

The process of breaking down a vehicle tire (passenger, commercial, or construction machinery tire) into valuable raw materials (rubber granules, steel wire, textile fiber) is a multi-stage process. MT Makina offers state-of-the-art machinery for each step of this process.

1. Preparation and Dismantling Equipment

Reducing the rough dimensions of the tires and removing the thick steel wires inside before they enter the system increases the overall efficiency of the plant and extends blade life.

  • Bead Wire Pulling Machine: This machine uses hydraulic power to pull and separate the thick steel wires (bead wires) found in the sidewalls of passenger and truck tires in a single operation.

  • Hydraulic Tire Cutting (Shearing) Machine: Reduces the load on the shredder by cutting large construction equipment or truck tires into 2, 4, or more pieces before they enter the shredder.

  • Double Shaft Shredder (Pre-Crusher): Takes whole or cut tires and shreds them into coarse pieces (chips) of 50-150 mm. With its high torque and low speed, it easily shreds tough materials.

2. Secondary Crushing and Granulation Machines

This is the stage where the coarsely chopped rubber chips are reduced in size, releasing the steel and fibers within.

  • Rasper (Secondary Crusher): Breaks tire chips into 15-20 mm pieces. During this stage, a large portion of the steel fibers within the rubber are released. It features an extra-wear-resistant rotor and blade structure.

  • Rubber Granulation Machine (Crusher): Converts the material into clean rubber granules with a size of 1-5 mm and high commercial value. Its sharp blade structure and water cooling systems prevent the rubber from burning.

  • Micronizing Powder Machine (Pulverizer): This machine reduces rubber granules to a much finer powder size (0.1 - 1 mm), making them suitable for use in asphalt additives or the manufacture of new rubber products.

3. Separation and Classification Systems

The golden rule for obtaining high-quality rubber raw material is to perfectly separate the steel and fibers within it.

  • Magnetic Band Separator (Overband Magnet): Uses a strong magnetic field to attract and remove steel wires released after crushing stages, thus removing them from the system.

  • Magnetic Drum Separator: These are high-precision magnetic drums used to separate very fine steel powders that remain in the granular stage.

  • Zig-Zag Air Separator: Separates textile fibers (nylon/cord fabric) in rubber from heavier rubber particles using airflow.

  • Vibrating Sieves: These sieve the resulting granules according to the desired millimeter sizes (fractions). Large particles of undesirable sizes are returned to the system.

4. Transportation, Storage and Filtration Equipment

Ancillary equipment that enables facility automation and meets environmental standards:

  • Conveyor Belt Systems (Z-type, Belt, Screw): Enable material transfer between machines.

  • Dust Collection and Filtration Systems (Jet Pulse Filters): By vacuuming up dusty air and airborne fibers within the facility, they keep the working environment clean and ensure workplace safety.

  • Filling and Silo Packaging Units (Big-Bag Filling): These units enable the automatic weighing and filling of the final product, such as rubber granules, steel wires, or fibers, into Big-Bag sacks.

Why MT Makina Waste Tire Recycling Systems?

  • Turnkey Solutions: We provide A-to-Z services in all stages, from project design and installation to commissioning and personnel training.

  • Advanced Engineering and Automation: With intelligent PLC control panels, your facility is managed from a single point, with minimum manpower and maximum energy efficiency.
